About the Role We are seeking an experienced Divestment Business Analyst to support a critical business carve-out and separation programme.
This is not a traditional Business Analyst role. We are looking for someone with genuine hands-on experience supporting divestments, carve-outs or business separation programmes, who understands the complexities involved in separating a business while maintaining continuity across both the divested and retained organisations.
You will work across multiple business functions to assess the impact of the separation, identify dependencies and risks, and support the business through the planning and execution of the carve-out.
The successful candidate will be comfortable answering the question: "What breaks if we carve this business unit out tomorrow?" You will need to be able to identify potential operational, process, technology and data impacts before they become business-critical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) across the divestment programme.
- Assess the impact of the separation across:
- People
- Processes
- Technology
- Data
- Vendors
- Customers
- Support the development and execution of business separation plans.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders and SMEs across Finance, HR, Operations, Sales, IT, Legal and Procurement.
- Identify and document risks, dependencies, interdependencies and mitigation plans.
- Support Transitional Services Agreement (TSA) planning and transition activities.
- Assess the impact of application, system and technology separation.
- Identify critical operational dependencies and potential points of failure.
- Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
- Translate complex business and technology impacts into clear documentation and recommendations.
- Work across the programme to ensure business continuity throughout the separation process.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
