The Role

As Divisional Director, you will have overall responsibility for the development and performance of the Travel Bond division, combining strategic leadership with strong commercial and client-facing expertise.

  • Lead the strategic growth and development of the Travel Bond division.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with travel businesses, insurers, financial institutions, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the placement and management of travel bonds and associated specialist insurance solutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop innovative solutions for clients operating across the travel industry.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients on bonding requirements, risk management, and regulatory considerations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers and capacity providers, negotiating terms and securing competitive solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing specialist team.
  • Take ownership of divisional financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and growth.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership across the business to identify opportunities and strengthen our proposition within the travel market.
  • Act as a senior ambassador for Touchstone, representing the business at industry events and within the wider travel and insurance community.

About you

We are looking for a commercially driven and credible insurance leader who has a proven track record within Travel Bonds or a closely related specialist insurance environment.

  • Significant experience within the insurance broking or underwriting sector.
  • Specialist knowledge of Travel Bonds, including the requirements of travel operators and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • An established network of contacts across the travel and insurance markets.
  • A strong commercial mindset with demonstrable experience of winning and retaining business.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading, developing, and motivating teams.
  • Strong financial and strategic understanding, with the ability to manage a division as a business.
  • The confidence and credibility to operate at board and senior stakeholder level.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to identify opportunities for growth.
