About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

12

The Team:

We are looking for a dynamic and client-focused Account Manager to join our Market Intelligence (MI) Divisional Account Management team in London, dedicated to managing and growing relationships with clients in the financial services sector, including asset managers and hedge funds. You will join a collaborative, commercially focused team that partners closely with clients to understand their workflows, priorities, and evolving business challenges. The team values strategic thinking, strong relationship management, and continuous improvement in how we support financial services clients.

The Impact:

This role plays a key part in retaining existing business, ensuring high engagement and utilization of S&P Global MI solutions, identifying growth opportunities within accounts, and aligning client needs with our expanding portfolio of data, analytics, and workflow tools. You will connect your day-to-day account activity to in-year business priorities, take an end-to-end view of client issues, and help identify process improvements that strengthen the client experience. By acting as a trusted partner to financial services clients, you will support stronger retention, deeper product adoption, and revenue growth across your assigned accounts.

What’s in it for You:

  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and career development.
  • You will gain exposure to a broad suite of S&P Global Market Intelligence solutions and work with internal experts across Product, Sales Specialists, Marketing, and other teams to deliver meaningful client outcomes.
  • This role provides the opportunity to strengthen your consultative account management capability, communicate complex information to a range of stakeholders, and contribute ideas that improve how we serve clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and deepen strategic relationships with key stakeholders across assigned accounts, establishing yourself as a trusted partner and the main point of contact for S&P Global MI.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to support retention and growth, maintain accurate forecasting, and report regularly on account health, risk, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Stay current on industry trends, financial services use cases, and the full suite of S&P Global Market Intelligence solutions. Understand how our offerings can support client objectives across sustainability, supply chain, credit risk, and more.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Product, Sales Specialists, Marketing, and others, to bring the best of S&P Global MI to the client, including custom demos, training, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Proactively identify client challenges and evolving needs, using a consultative approach to recommend relevant S&P Global MI solutions that add value, improve client outcomes, and drive revenue growth.

All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3+ years of experience in account management, business development, or customer success, preferably with clients in the financial services sector.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day account activity with limited oversight, connect work to broader business priorities, and resolve varied client issues with an end-to-end mindset.
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
