DIVISIONAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

UK (open), with travel across the UK and internationally

An opportunity for a commercially driven CEO to lead a diverse portfolio of small, entrepreneurial businesses, strengthen their performance and accelerate profitable growth.

The mandate combines strategy, commercial development, leadership, capital allocation and M&A. Working through Managing Directors and their teams, you will help each business realise its potential while shaping the future development of the portfolio.

You will build a deep understanding of each business, providing practical support, constructive challenge and clear accountability. Day-to-day operational leadership will remain with the individual management teams.

The role

  • Develop ambitious, achievable growth plans and strengthen B2B sales and marketing.
  • Support and develop Managing Directors, building leadership capability and succession.
  • Improve profitability, cash generation and returns on assets and investment.
  • Assess investment priorities, acquisitions and opportunities to develop the portfolio.
  • Identify where shared resources and expertise can improve performance while preserving entrepreneurial drive.

The person

You will be an accomplished CEO, Group Managing Director or divisional leader with a strong record of delivering results through the leadership teams of multiple businesses or operating units. Working within businesses between £5m and £30m revenue is the ideal dynamic. This is a hands-on role.

Experience across business services, engineering, infrastructure and real estate, or comparable environments, would be helpful but any B2B environment could work. You will bring commercial breadth, financial discipline and sound judgement on asset management and capital allocation.
