Divisional Finance Director
A leading, large-scale organisation is seeking an experienced Divisional Finance Director based in Reading (hybrid) to join one of its core business divisions. This is a highly visible leadership role, partnering closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to drive performance, profitability and strategic decision making across a significant business unit.
Leading a sizeable finance function, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for the financial performance, controls, reporting and planning activities of the division, while acting as a key member of the divisional leadership team.
The Opportunity:
This is a hands-on leadership role within a complex and operationally intensive environment. The Finance Director will work closely with senior operational leaders to improve business performance, challenge decision making and ensure robust financial governance across the division.

- Lead and develop an established finance team covering all aspects of finance,
- Help to drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance function for a sizeable business division with full P&L responsibility.
- Act as a trusted business partner to divisional leadership and operational management teams.
- Deliver accurate and insightful management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Drive financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, productivity and cash generation.
- Provide commercial challenge and support on operational initiatives, investment decisions and strategic projects.
- Ensure strong financial controls, governance and compliance across the division.
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of finance professionals.
- Support business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Group Finance and executive stakeholders on performance reviews and strategic planning.

Candidate Profile:
We are seeking an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical finance skills with genuine operational and commercial acumen.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Previous experience as at Finance Director level within an SME or a division of a large company.
- Strong track record of partnering with operational leadership teams.
- Experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial planning capabilities.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive improved business performance.
- Commercially minded with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
- Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
