FP&A Manager - Planning & Reporting
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for the role of FP&A Manager - Planning & Reporting.
About the Role
The role plays a pivotal role in shaping the Trust's financial strategy, leading the annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes while acting as HHFT's key liaison with the Integrated Care System (ICS) planning agenda.
You will lead the delivery of high-quality external financial reporting, working closely with senior finance colleagues to ensure timely submissions, compliance with national guidance, and robust financial governance.
This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for the Trust-wide management accounts process and driving continuous improvement across the FP&A function. You will have the opportunity to lead and influence major strategic programmes, including the implementation of new financial reporting systems, as well as finance transformation programmes that will shape the future of the FP&A function.
Working closely with operational and clinical leaders, you will provide expert financial insight and challenge, ensuring the financial implications of service developments and transformational change are fully understood and evaluated. Through strong business partnering, you will help deliver divisional, organisational, and national objectives while supporting the long-term sustainability of the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of the Trust's annual financial plan, coordinating the planning process across the organisation and ensuring the timely completion of all NHS England planning submissions.
- Own and drive the Trust's financial forecasting process, providing robust analysis, insight, and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making and financial sustainability.
- Lead the production and submission of monthly external financial returns, ensuring compliance with NHS England requirements, national guidance, and reporting deadlines.
- Produce high-quality financial and management reports for operational managers, senior finance leaders, the Director of Finance, and Chief Finance Officer, translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
- Lead the annual budget-setting process across the Trust, working collaboratively with budget holders and senior stakeholders to align financial plans with organisational priorities and objectives.
- Provide expert financial advice, challenge, and support to operational and clinical leaders, enabling informed decision-making and strengthening financial accountability across services.

Alongside the wider Finance department our teams are based at the Basingstoke site but currently benefit from hybrid working arrangements and are expected at times to travel to one of our other two sites.
