Purpose of the Role

You will develop and maintain long-term strategic relationships with broker partners, building trusted connections at senior level and set a clear vision for the partner segment. You will lead a team of 3–6 Partnership Managers, ensuring strategic account plans, partner needs and company objectives are delivered through strong commercial leadership, effective governance and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term broker relationships through high-quality strategic account planning.
  • Set the vision for the partner segment and lead strategic initiatives that deliver commercial, operational and customer outcomes.
  • Build trusted senior-level relationships and ensure Partnership Managers build and maintain effective connections with relevant partner stakeholders.
  • Recruit, lead, coach and develop a team of Partnership Managers, setting clear qualitative and quantitative goals.
  • Own overall partner relationship management for the partner segment along with managing service requirements, complaints, contracts and the onboarding of new strategic partners through to launch.
  • Use partner insight, forecasts and data to support resource planning, management information packs, accurate reporting and commercial decision-making.
  • Identify retention, cross-sell and upsell opportunities that meet partner and customer needs.
  • Lead business planning, pipeline reporting, trading projections and budget management, maintaining accurate CRM records.
  • Collaborate across internal teams to resolve issues and continually improve partner service.
  • Maintain effective governance and ensure the segment operates in line with FCA and CBI requirements, conduct risk standards and company policies.

Person Requirements

  • A demonstrable sales background with a consistent record of exceeding targets.
  • Strategic account management experience, working with teams and partners to build and deliver plans.
  • Financial services or insurance experience gained within an insurance broker, insurer, finance company or bank.
  • Experience leading, managing and developing a high-performing team.
  • Strong understanding of revenue principles, forecasting, budgeting and commercial performance.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident and concise communication, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A self-starting, tenacious and collaborative approach, with partner and customer needs at the forefront.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with an understanding of how AI can be used to find solutions.
  • It would be beneficial if you bring a data-driven mindset and passion for analytics, together with a CII qualification.
