Divisional Manager
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: £110,000 – £125,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Bonus
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Divisional Manager to join a leading contractor, taking strategic and operational responsibility for a significant portfolio of refurbishment, retrofit and fire remediation contracts.
Based from Hatfield, this is a senior leadership position with responsibility for driving operational performance, commercial success and sustainable growth across the division.
The Role
As Divisional Manager, you will provide strategic direction and operational leadership across Construction and Commercial teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing Contracts Managers, Site Managers, Commercial and Technical teams
- Taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of refurbishment, retrofit and fire remediation programmes
- Driving divisional turnover, profitability and overall commercial performance
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to identify and secure new business opportunities
- Overseeing pre-construction and pre-commencement activities to ensure robust financial and operational planning
- Managing commercial, operational and programme risk across multiple contracts
- Driving continuous improvement and innovation across the division
- Ensuring the highest standards of SHEQ compliance across all projects
- Championing ESG, sustainability and responsible construction practices
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders

The Candidate
We are looking for an established senior construction professional with significant experience leading large-scale refurbishment and planned works operations.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience at Divisional Manager, Operations Director, Regional Director or senior operational leadership level
- A strong background within refurbishment, planned maintenance, retrofit and/or fire remediation
- Experience managing multiple contracts and senior operational teams
- Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for significant turnover and P&L
- A demonstrable track record of delivering profitable growth
- Excellent client management and business development skills
- Strong knowledge of SHEQ, risk management and operational governance
- The ability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing teams
