Divisional Managing Director – Water & Industrial

Parkinson Lee Executive Search has been retained to appoint a Divisional Managing Director on behalf of a well-established engineering group with a strong heritage of delivering specialist solutions across the UK industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Following strategic investment and acquisitions, the Group has created a new Water & Industrial Division, bringing together three successful businesses with combined revenues of c.£21m and ambitious growth plans to more than double turnover over the next 5 years, via a mixture of organic growth, bolt-on of additional group services, strong intercompany trade and acquisitions post year 3.

Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director, this is a high-profile appointment with full strategic and commercial responsibility for the Division.

The role will cover multiple sites in and around the Yorkshire and East Midlands.

The Opportunity

This role is focused on creating one clear strategic vision across three operating companies, driving commercial growth, strengthening collaboration and building a scalable platform for future expansion.

  • Leading an experienced divisional leadership team, including the three Managing Directors of the existing operating businesses
  • Developing the divisional strategy
  • Enhancing commercial performance
  • Increasing aftermarket revenues
  • Identifying opportunities to grow through both organic initiatives and acquisition

This is a leadership role centred on influence, alignment, and growth rather than day-to-day operational management, empowering each Managing Director while creating a unified direction across the Division.

About You

We're looking for a commercially driven executive with:

  • Senior leadership experience within the UK water sector
  • A track record of leading multi-site engineering, manufacturing, or industrial service businesses
  • Experience leading and developing Managing Directors, General Managers, or autonomous business leaders across multiple operating companies or divisions
  • Full P&L ownership and experience delivering profitable growth
  • Success developing commercial strategy and leading organizational change
  • Strong customer relationships across the UK water or Industrial markets
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to unite teams and develop high-performing businesses
