Job Description
Divisional Quality Assistant - Environment & Safety
We are seeking to recruit a Quality Assistant to support the Divisional Quality Manager with the implementation, coordination, and management of effective quality systems, while assisting with reporting to the Divisional Management Team on key aspects of business performance, including:
- Quality Management (ISO 9001, UKAS, and MCERTS), supporting compliance with SOCOTEC UK policies and relevant ISO requirements.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), assisting with monitoring and reporting to ensure the Division complies with applicable statutory requirements, regulatory obligations, and industry standards.

- Support the Divisional Quality Manager to establish robust auditing frameworks and systematic planning tools that enhance the organisation's quality management capabilities. Ensure the divisional teams operate in accordance with SOCOTEC’s Quality Management Systems through monitoring, auditing, and training.
- Ensure consistency with cross-divisional systems and UK objectives, targets, and reporting of KPIs as required.
- Support the Divisional Quality Manager to ensure that Management Review Meetings are undertaken as required for the E&S business units.
- Manage document control for Environment & Safety business units as required.
- Convene meetings and ensure that management have reports on the performance and effectiveness of the quality management system, improvements needed, and on opportunities for improvement.
- Commitment to the principle of continuous improvement throughout all areas of our business and monitor continuous improvement decisions to guarantee the satisfaction of the concerned stakeholders.
- Encourage the use of a risk-based approach for audit scheduling, scope, and criteria.
- Deliver Internal Quality Awareness training where required.
- Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
General:
- Maintain a positive team environment to promote the overall interests of the company without regard to sectional or divisional boundaries.
- To operate within SOCOTEC UK Limited terms & conditions, policies, and quality assurance system.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture through leadership and effective management.
- Comply with SOCOTEC and client quality, safety, and environmental systems and procedures at all times.
- Work within the team to develop a culture where everyone embraces, upholds, and accepts responsibility for a safe workplace, a healthy working life, a sustainable environment, and the right and duty to intervene.
Qualifications
To be a successful Divisional Quality Assistant, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Degree and/or experience in a Scientific discipline preferable/desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years’ industry experience.
- Experience in a quality role, preferable in an ISO17025 accredited organisation.
- Experience in lean/six sigma preferable but training can be provided.
- Able to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Organised and self-motivated.
