Role Overview
Homeware at Liberty is anything but ordinary. It's a department where craftsmanship meets the quirky, and every corner has a story to tell. We're seeking a Divisional Sales Manager with proven management experience to lead it.
You'll run the department day to day, setting the pace for a team that looks to you for direction, coaching and energy. Working closely with our Store Director, you'll drive sales, service and stock performance, and get stuck in on everything from training and merchandising to visual displays, inventory and e-commerce.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Coaching
- Plan the department rota to ensure sufficient cover during peak trading periods
- Hold monthly one-to-one reviews with each team member, setting objectives and following up on progress
- Address performance issues promptly and coach regularly to raise performance
- Run planned daily team briefs that engage and energise the team to sell
- Actively develop your team, reviewing learning after training and how it will be applied in their roles
- Build strong working relationships with managers and buyers in your own and other departments

Service for Sales
- Set sales targets for each team member and track progress through productivity
- Reward and incentivise the team to hit targets, coaching them to improve further
- Carry out floor moves in line with brand performance and sell-through
- Provide weekly trade feedback covering successes, customer insight and growth opportunities
- Ensure the team are fully versed in all store services and promotions
- Resolve customer issues before they escalate, using sound judgement in the interest of both the customer and the business
Standards
- Conduct daily floor walks to ensure product availability and maintain standards across the shop floor (including staff and stock) and the stockroom
- Prevent stock loss by ensuring all stock is tagged and protected from damage, paperwork is completed accurately, and the correct POS numbers go through the till
- Prepare for and take part in stock takes
About You
- Proven experience managing a retail department or sales team, ideally in a premium, luxury or specialist environment
- A track record of achieving sales, service and stock targets
- Confident coaching and development of teams, including performance conversations
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to act on sales reports, trading data and KPIs
- Practical experience of merchandising, visual merchandising and stock control (including stock takes and loss prevention)
- Experience of rota planning and managing peak trading cover

- Stockroom duties may involve manual handling
- Shift pattern includes early starts, late finishes, weekends and bank holidays
