Divisional Vice President / Business Manager – Muirhead Avionics

AMETEK is seeking an accomplished and commercially driven Divisional Vice President / Business Manager to lead our Muirhead Avionics Business Unit based in Langley, Slough.
This is a senior leadership opportunity with full responsibility for the overall performance of the business, including Profit & Loss, strategic growth, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and talent development. We are looking for a proven leader who can accelerate growth, drive operational improvements, and build a high-performing organisation within a strategic market for the AMETEK MRO Division.
Key Responsibilities

Own and deliver the overall P&L performance of the Muirhead Avionics Business Unit.

Develop and execute the Business Unit Strategic Plan aligned with AMETEK's four-pronged growth strategy:
- Operational Excellence
- New Product Development
- Market Expansion
- Mergers & Acquisitions

Lead all business functions including Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, HR, Customer Service, Aftermarket, and EHS.

Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across key metrics including revenue, profitability, working capital, quality, productivity, inventory management, and on-time delivery.

Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, and SIOP.

Enhance product development through effective market analysis, project management, target product identification, and Design for Six Sigma principles.

Build, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team through effective talent management and succession planning.

Partner closely with divisional leadership teams across Europe and North America to ensure strategic alignment and execution.

Identify and evaluate opportunities for market expansion, business growth, and acquisitions.

Champion the adoption of AI and digital tools to improve productivity, decision-making, operational efficiency, and cost performance.

What We're Looking For
- Significant senior leadership experience with full P&L accountability.
- Proven success leading aviation/aerospace (MRO/OEM) businesses.
- Strong track record of delivering profitable growth and operational transformation.
- Experience leading multi-functional teams across commercial, operations, engineering, supply chain, quality, finance, and HR functions.
- Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
