The School of Psychology and Humanities
The School of Psychology and Humanities are seeking to appoint a Doctoral Teaching Associate in Psychology for a five-year fixed period.
The Doctoral Teaching Associate is a career development role combining registration for a PhD in Psychology with the opportunity to gain practical teaching skills and experience. The post-holder will contribute to teaching and assessment on undergraduate programmes in psychology with support provided by senior academics in the School. You will develop your teaching, learning, and research skills and appropriate training will be provided.
About You
You should have an undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related subject, a Masters degree in a relevant subject is desirable. You will have proven practical and theoretical skills, along with experience of Psychology activities.

We are looking to appoint someone who can take a flexible and innovative approach to teaching and learning and has excellent presentation and communication skills. You should be able to work effectively and efficiently as an individual and as a member of the Psychology team. An ability to use IT and relevant software packages in the support of teaching and learning is essential.

Application Instructions
Applicants should submit a 500-word outline of the PhD project they would like to pursue, along with their application form. The outline should identify the research question, explain the theoretical and/or applied significance of the topic, indicate the proposed methodological approach, and demonstrate that the project is feasible within the DTA structure. Applicants should also explain how the project aligns with existing expertise, facilities, and research programmes within the School, and should identify a potential supervisor or supervisory team. Proposals with clear potential to generate high-quality research outputs, external engagement, impact, and/or contribution to the School’s research environment are particularly welcome.
