Document Controller – Northampton

A great opportunity has arisen for a Document Controller to join a well‑established M&E construction company with a strong reputation in the design, supply and installation of a wide range of electrical and mechanical building services.

This role is ideal for someone organised, proactive, and confident managing project documentation across multiple live sites. You’ll support both the mechanical and electrical teams, ensuring all project information is accurate, compliant, and distributed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, update, and control all project documentation, drawings, and records
  • Manage document workflows, version control, and approvals
  • Ensure all documentation meets company and industry standards
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather and issue information
  • Upload, track, and manage documents through internal systems and client portals
  • Support the wider project team with administrative and compliance tasks
  • Assist with O&M manuals, handover packs, and project close‑out documentation

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Document Controller within construction (M&E experience highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of technical documentation, drawings, and project workflows
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident using document control software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
