A client of ours, a well-established construction company in Feering, Essex, is recruiting a Document Controller to support their Design Manager with drawings, documentation, and general administration.

About the Role

This is a full-time temporary to potentially permanent position, working Monday-Friday, either 8.00am-4.00pm or 9.00am-5.00pm (37.5 hours per week). The role is fully office-based, and the salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Key Duties

  • Supporting the Design Manager with the day-to-day management of drawings, documentation, and administration.
  • Organising, maintaining, and distributing drawings and design information, ensuring documents are accurate and up to date.
  • Uploading and managing documents using the company's document management system, Procore.
  • Maintaining accurate records and filing systems and ensuring the correct information is circulated to the relevant teams.
  • Liaising with the Design Manager, project teams, contractors, and other relevant parties as required.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Design team and assisting with the smooth running of the department.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in document control, administration, coordination, or a similar role.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence in learning and using new computer systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with colleagues and external contacts.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Previous construction, engineering, property, or design experience would be advantageous, particularly experience working with drawings or technical documentation.
