About the Role

As a Document Controller, you will support a major project within the energy sector, providing day-to-day Document Control across a complex environment involving multiple companies, disciplines, and departments.

You will manage and control project documentation throughout its lifecycle, ensuring information is accurate, appropriately governed, and managed in line with agreed project standards and procedures.

Working within Omega365, which is used as the project management and Document Control system, you will support the effective coordination, review, distribution, and tracking of project documentation.

Alongside day-to-day Document Control activities, you will contribute to the creation and ongoing development of the Project Information Management Standard and Document Control Standard, helping to establish consistent and effective information management practices across the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day Document Control support across a major, multi-disciplinary project.
  • Manage, control, and maintain project documentation throughout the document lifecycle.
  • Support the coordination, review, distribution, and tracking of project documentation.
  • Work with multiple companies, disciplines, and departments to ensure project information is managed consistently and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate document records, metadata, revisions, and document status information within the project management system.
  • Support document workflows and ensure documentation is processed in accordance with agreed project procedures and standards.
  • Work within Omega365 as the project's management and Document Control system.
  • Contribute to the creation, review, and ongoing update of the Project Information Management Standard.
  • Contribute to the creation, review, and ongoing update of the Document Control Standard.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of Document Control processes and ways of working.
  • Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to promote consistent information and document management practices.

Required Experience

  • Previous Document Control experience within energy, engineering, major projects, or another relevant technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of Document Control principles, processes, and document lifecycle management.
  • Experience working with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
  • Experience with Omega365 would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience supporting complex projects involving multiple disciplines, departments, contractors, or organisations.
  • Good understanding of project and engineering documentation.
  • Experience working with Document Control procedures, standards, and governance.
  • Experience contributing to the development or improvement of Document Control or information management standards would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across different teams, disciplines, and organisations.
  • A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to work independently when required.
