Document Controller
Location: Sizewell C
Job Responsibilities
- Administer the approved document-management system, registers, workflows, and controlled distribution arrangements.
- Receive, quality-check, register, issue, and archive documents, drawings, records, and formal correspondence.
- Ensure users can identify and access the current approved revision at the point of use.
- Maintain document numbering, metadata, revision history, status, ownership, and retention requirements.
- Control superseded information and prevent obsolete documents remaining in operational use.
- Coordinate reviews, approvals, comments, transmittals, and overdue actions with document owners.
- Maintain material-receipt, inspection, storage, care, maintenance, release, and delivery evidence.
- Support audits, assurance reviews, handover, and regulatory evidence requests with complete records.
- Monitor document-control performance and report gaps, overdue reviews, and recurring quality issues.
- Provide guidance and practical support to employees and partners using document-control processes.
- Work with the team to improve workflows, data quality, access, and information governance.

Qualifications
Essential
- Excellent written communication, accuracy, and record-keeping skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and an electronic document-management system.
- CITB HS&E Operatives before the start date
- Ability to satisfy all Sizewell C security, vetting, and site access requirements.
- Relevant document-control, information-management, or quality experience, or equivalent transferable capability.
Desirable
- A recognised document-control, information-management, or quality qualification.
- Previous experience in construction, infrastructure, logistics, or another regulated environment.
- A working knowledge of:
- Electronic document-management systems and approval workflows
- ISO9001 records, document, and configuration-control principles
- Material traceability, handover, and assurance evidence
- NEC correspondence and major-project governance

Experience
- Previous document-control or information-management experience in a regulated or project environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records under competing priorities.
- Experience managing document registers, revision control, transmittals, workflows, and retention.
- Confident use of electronic document-management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret document status, approval requirements, and information-governance rules.
- Strong organisational and time-management capability with disciplined follow-through.
- Ability to communicate requirements clearly and support users with different levels of experience.
- Experience supporting audits, handover packs, or quality-assurance evidence is desirable.
- Understanding of material traceability, configuration control, or construction records is advantageous.
- Discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive, controlled, or security-classified information.
