Document Controller – London
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Document Controller with an M&E / MEP background to join an established and highly regarded building services contractor.
We are looking for someone who understands the requirements of M&E/MEP project documentation and is confident managing technical information across multiple stakeholders, including project teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
The successful candidate will become an important part of the project delivery team, ensuring information is accurately controlled, distributed and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role
As Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining project information, ensuring that drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, O&M information and other project documentation are properly controlled and distributed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project documentation and information through the relevant EDMS/document control system.
- Upload, distribute and maintain drawings, specifications and technical documents.
- Maintain drawing registers, document registers and trackers.
- Manage incoming and outgoing transmittals.
- Monitor document status and ensure information is issued to the correct stakeholders.
- Coordinate technical submissions, RFIs and approvals.
- Carry out document QA checks.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, designers, consultants and subcontractors.
- Chase outstanding documentation and actions.
- Maintain project filing structures and ensure information is easily accessible.
- Assist with O&M manuals and project handover documentation.
- Produce document control reports when required.
- Ensure project information is managed in accordance with client and company procedures.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Document Controller within an M&E, MEP, mechanical or electrical contractor environment.
Experience with construction documentation and technical information is important, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced project environment.

You should have:
- Previous Document Control experience within construction or building services.
- M&E / MEP experience is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of drawings, technical submissions and project documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience dealing with consultants, subcontractors and project teams.
- Good understanding of document numbering, revision control and document status.
