About the Role

We are looking for a Document Controller to support the management, maintenance and control of operational and management system documentation across the business. The role is responsible for ensuring documentation is accurately controlled, maintained, updated and stored within electronic document management systems.

Working closely with the Senior HSQE Assurance Manager, operational teams and project stakeholders, you will help ensure all controlled documents remain compliant, accessible and effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Provide document control services, ensuring retrieval, access, modification and secure archiving of documentation.
  • Maintain master copies of Management System and Change Control documentation.
  • Maintain and update controlled document registers and document library records.
  • Allocate and manage document reference numbers.
  • Monitor document modification activities and report on progress and status.
  • Quality check documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding document control requirements.
  • Provide document status updates and support change management processes.
  • Support operational, support services, and project teams with document management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards and relevant legislation.

What You'll Need

Essential

  • Experience working within a Document Controller, Records Management or Document Management environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage confidential information professionally and discreetly.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work accurately within controlled processes and procedures.

Desirable

  • Experience using electronic Document Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
  • Experience working within engineering, rail, construction or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of document control standards and change control procedures.
  • Experience supporting operational and project teams.
