Document Editor Team Leader
Location: Slough
The role:
As the Document Editor Team Leader, you will lead and develop a team of technical documentation specialists responsible for the creation, editing, review, approval, and delivery of GMP documentation that supports manufacturing operations and wider site activities. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee documentation processes from MSAT through to GMP manufacturing, ensuring compliance, quality, and adherence to operational timelines. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders and customers, you will drive process excellence through effective planning, performance tracking, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition to managing day-to-day team activities, you will act as a coach, mentor, and subject matter expert, providing guidance, training, and support to develop team capability while fostering strong collaboration across the business.
This is a fully site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do:
- Lead and manage the Technical Administrative Team, providing direction, coaching, mentoring, and performance management to support individual and team development.
- Ensure the timely and right-first-time (RFT) delivery of GMP documentation, meeting manufacturing and business timelines while maintaining compliance and quality standards.
- Monitor and coordinate document creation activities, proactively engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, manage changes, and ensure customer requirements are met.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on document content, style, formatting standards, document management systems (DMS), documentation procedures, and GMP best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement and strategic documentation initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, efficiency, compliance, and overall documentation performance.
- Troubleshoot documentation and process-related issues, leading root cause investigations and collaborating across functions to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain compliance and capability within the team, ensuring training requirements are met, documentation standards are upheld, and team members are equipped to support evolving business needs.

What we are looking for:
- A BSc in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience, providing a strong foundation in biopharmaceutical development or manufacturing.
- Demonstrates strong people leadership skills, fostering a culture of care, coaching, and open communication while supporting team development, engagement, and performance.
- Builds effective relationships across functions, leveraging excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders, influence decisions, and deliver business objectives.
- Exercises sound judgement and initiative, proactively identifying risks, escalating issues appropriately, and ensuring timely resolution of challenges that could impact quality, compliance, or delivery.
- Has a proven track record of delivering high-quality results against demanding timelines, effectively managing priorities while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and customer focus.
- Develops and grows high-performing teams, with experience assessing talent, providing constructive feedback, and creating development opportunities that strengthen both individual and team capability.
