About The Department
Complex Securities Legal provides expertise in derivatives, repos, MSFTA products, and other complex securities, their related market infrastructure, documentation, and regulation. We support trading and portfolio management as well as client-facing teams, operations, risk, and compliance. The team covers the Franklin Templeton group globally and is headed in London.
How Will You Add Value
- Support business and other stakeholders in respect of complex securities to help grow our business safely and efficiently.
- Manage onboardings of clients to our trading documentation, including running multiple workflows efficiently, working closely with internal stakeholders and counterparty dealers, providing expert advice, and drafting.
- Clients are Franklin Templeton’s funds and a wide array of institutional clients globally.
- Products include: exchange-traded, OTC cleared and uncleared, shareclass hedging, derivatives on digital assets, tokenised collateral, prime brokerage, and Sharia-compliant financial instruments.
- Support on implementation projects stemming from developments in market infrastructure and regulation, to ensure our business is well placed for incoming changes.

What Will Help You Be Successful In This Role
- Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented approach, able to interact with business, operations, and other stakeholders.
- At least 5 years of experience in the negotiation of relevant documentation negotiation, ideally at a high-tier asset manager or dealer.
- Technical expertise in derivatives and repo documentation and negotiation. Experience in the other products listed above greatly welcomed.
- Qualification as a lawyer would be a plus but is not essential.
