Document Record Controller

At Baker Hughes, our Document Control team plays a critical role in supporting project execution by ensuring technical documentation is managed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual and organizational requirements. Partner with the best

As a Document Record Controller, you will coordinate Document Control (DC) activities for multiple Services projects. You will work closely with project teams, clients, engineering functions, and stakeholders to ensure technical documentation is effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle while maintaining compliance with company standards and contractual requirements.

As a Document Record Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing technical documentation for Services projects, including document storage, review, approval workflows, and distribution.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients regarding Document Control activities and requirements.
  • Identifying and interpreting contractual document control requirements to ensure compliance throughout project execution.
  • Managing and maintaining the Master Document Register (MDR) within Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) across multiple projects.
  • Preparing and distributing document control reports, metrics, and status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading the timely delivery of technical documentation in accordance with project schedules and client expectations.
  • Ensuring compliance with global SP&S Document Control standards and procedures across assigned projects.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities, escalating concerns when necessary, and supporting the implementation of process enhancements and best practices.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Document Control role.
  • Have experience working with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
  • Demonstrate experience coordinating document management activities across multiple projects.
  • Have experience within the Oil & Gas industry or a similar engineering environment.
  • Possess experience utilizing multiple document management systems and tools.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to clients.
  • Be self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities independently.
  • Have excellent collaboration skills and experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and urgency in delivering high-quality results to clients.
  • Possess leadership capabilities and the ability to operate effectively within a matrix organization.
  • Have strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Experience managing large volumes of technical project documentation.
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle management and engineering project execution.
  • Ability to analyze document control metrics and identify process improvement opportunities.
