Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Dog Groomer role based at Urban Mutts Hotels Limited in Westfield London. The Dog Groomer will perform daily grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, clipping, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat styling for dogs of various breeds and temperaments. The role involves assessing each dog’s coat and skin condition, following grooming requests from clients, and maintaining a calm and safe environment throughout the grooming process. The Dog Groomer will interact with clients, explain grooming options, provide after-care advice, and ensure excellent customer service. Responsibilities also include cleaning and sanitising grooming areas and equipment, monitoring dogs’ behaviour and wellbeing, and working collaboratively with the wider pet care team.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess practical skills in Pet Grooming, including clipping and breed standard coat styling for a variety of dog breeds.
  • Candidates should possess strong Pet Care skills, including safe handling, monitoring dog wellbeing, and recognising signs of stress or discomfort.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service and Communication skills to interact with clients, understand their preferences, and provide clear grooming updates.
  • Previous experience in a grooming salon is essential.
  • Relevant certifications in dog grooming or animal care.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and safely lift or handle dogs of different sizes.
  • Commitment to animal welfare, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
