We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer.

We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

About your team:

We’re the pride of Ireland. Bord Gáis Energy have been powering the nation’s homes and businesses for almost 40 years. But now, we’re so much more than just gas and electric. Through our unique combination of household heroes and energy assets, we’re at the heart of the energy transition in Ireland, strengthening the country’s energy security and helping customers get ready for a net zero future.

Centrica, Technology is a core driver of how we deliver our strategy. You’ll join a team modernising our platforms, strengthening cyber and operational resilience, and advancing a product-led way of working that brings engineers, data specialists and business experts together to deliver meaningful outcomes at pace.

We’re scaling automation and AI from proof-of-concept into real, end-to-end change - improving customer journeys, reducing cost-to-serve, accelerating delivery, and building the digital foundations that underpin everything from energy trading and risk to field operations and critical infrastructure.

If you want to work on complex, high-impact problems using modern engineering practices, and help build reusable platforms that will shape how Centrica operates over the next decade, this is the place to do it.

An opportunity to play your part:

Ready to shape the future of energy technology in Ireland? Join Centrica as a Domain Architect and take the lead in driving end-to-end architecture across a rapidly transforming landscape—from next-gen energy platforms to Salesforce and Dynamics 365 enhancements. This is a high-impact role where you’ll partner with Product, Engineering and Delivery teams to design smart, scalable solutions that elevate customer experience, boost performance and simplify our tech estate. You’ll bring big-picture thinking, make commercially savvy decisions, and help build a culture of architectural excellence—coaching others and turning strategy into real-world outcomes. If you love solving complex challenges and making things work at scale, this is your moment.

Location: UK or Ireland (willing to travel between both countries)

The Day to Day:

  • Define and maintain the target architecture for our Irish business lines – Consumer and Commercial propositions. Ensure these roadmaps align to the enterprise standards and the strategic direction set by Retail Architecture. Provide clear architectural direction to guide the transition to our next technology platforms and the required simplification/convergence on the legacy.
  • Design architecture around the outcomes that matter for the business functions - customer experience, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance (CRU/industry), and commercial performance. Ensure architectural decisions directly support the OKRs for Billing, Customer Service, Market Operations, and Field Services. Challenge solutions that create unnecessary complexity or cost.
  • Champion the use of strategic platforms and shared integration/API frameworks. Ensure the business consumes shared capabilities where appropriate, while clearly identifying where the Irish market require local differentiation. Drive reuse of Centrica-wide accelerators and prevent divergence from Retail architectural guardrails.
  • Operate within Centrica’s architectural guardrails and decision rights. Own architecture expertise within the Irish domain, escalating only when choices impact cross-market capabilities, enterprise platforms, or introduce strategic risk. Ensure all designs meet enterprise NFRs, security standards, and data protection obligations.
  • Design with an understanding of Irish industry processes (e.g., market flows, Gas/Elec market interactions, DSOs/TSOs, regulatory cycles), integrations to legacy BGE systems, and upstream/downstream impacts. Ensure architectures are robust, operable, cost-efficient, and able to scale for customer growth and increased digital adoption.
  • Work closely with the Platform, Product, and business programme teams to ensure designs are buildable and grounded in delivery reality.
  • Adapt architectural direction as the architecture evolves. Measure architectural effectiveness by delivery progress and post-go-live adoption, not documentation.
  • In partnership with Product and Finance, ensure architectural options factor in total cost of ownership, cloud economics, licensing, vendor risk, regulatory impacts, and operational cost-to-serve. Provide clear analysis to support build-vs-buy decisions, platform extensions, or local differentiators required for the Irish market.
  • Be the trusted architectural advisor for business leadership, including Product Directors, Programme Directors, Engineering Leads, and Technology Leaders and the wider Centrica Retail organisation. Communicate architectural decisions clearly and influence outcomes through expertise, not hierarchy.
  • Coach and support the Solution Architects and engineers working across retail wide initiatives. Promote clarity, quality, platform reuse, and continual improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
