Data & AI Strategy Domain Expert

About the Role

Methods is a £100M+ IT Services Consultancy that partners with central government and agencies to transform public-sector operations. Established for over 30 years, we focus on end-to-end business and technical solutions that are people-centred, safe, and future-ready. Our unique value lies in our human-centric approach, blending people, technology, and data to create sustainable impact for clients, staff, communities, and the planet.

Methods operates collaboratively across practices, solving challenges with a fun yet rigorous mindset while embracing learning from mistakes. While rooted in the public sector, we are expanding our private-sector portfolio. As part of the Alten Group, Methods benefits from the expertise of a global engineering and IT services firm with 57,000+ employees.

This senior consultancy role focuses on Data & AI Strategy within our Data & AI Consulting Practice. You will guide clients in leveraging data, analytics, and AI to improve business outcomes, public services, operational efficiency, regulatory confidence, and organisational performance.

You will shape high-impact consulting engagements, support business development, refine Methods’ repeatable offerings, and foster a strong internal expertise network. As one of seven Domain Experts across key strategic areas (including Data Intelligence & Applied AI), you will establish Thought Leadership, guide client delivery, and enhance Methods’ market position.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Transformation

  • Lead Data & AI strategy engagements for public-sector and regulated-industry clients.
  • Facilitate senior stakeholder workshops with executives, boards, SROs, CDOs, CIOs, CTOs, transformation directors, and operational leaders.

Strategic Advisory & Roadmapping

  • Assess organisation maturity across data, AI, analytics, governance, technology, operating model, people, process, adoption, and value realisation.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritise Data & AI use cases to deliver operational efficiency, service innovation, decision support, automation, fraud/error reduction, workforce productivity, and customer/citizen experience enhancement.

Business Case Development

  • Develop business cases, investment narratives, benefits maps, value cases, KPIs, OKRs, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Advise on technology strategy, including build/buy/partner options, platform selection, interoperability, supplier risk, scalability, and AI readiness.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
