Role Details

About the Role

The Community Safety Team (CST) plays a vital role in helping residents feel safe, supported and secure within their homes and communities. As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of some of Manchester's most vulnerable residents by providing specialist support to those experiencing domestic abuse. Working at the heart of a multi-agency partnership network, you will help individuals and families navigate difficult situations, reduce risk and access the support they need to rebuild their lives.

This is a rewarding role that combines safeguarding, housing management and partnership working to improve outcomes for residents across the city. You will play a key part in ensuring victims are listened to, protected and supported, while helping Manchester City Council deliver on its commitment to creating safer neighbourhoods and stronger communities. If you are passionate about supporting people, promoting safety and delivering high-quality services that make a real difference, we would like to hear from you.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Join a team of dedicated colleagues committed to protecting residents, reducing harm and delivering positive outcomes for people affected by domestic abuse.
  • Lead on the management of domestic abuse cases received by Housing Services, ensuring victims receive timely and effective support.
  • Undertake risk assessments and develop robust safety plans that place the victim's needs and wishes at the centre of decision-making.
  • Coordinate support and interventions with a wide range of statutory, voluntary and community sector partners.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, appropriately managed and escalated where necessary.
  • Apply a trauma-informed and victim-centred approach throughout all aspects of case management.
  • Work collaboratively with housing colleagues, social care services, health professionals, Greater Manchester Police and specialist domestic abuse organisations to deliver coordinated support.
  • Support residents to improve their safety, wellbeing and long-term stability through effective intervention and partnership working.
  • Use sound professional judgement to manage complex situations, balance risk and identify practical solutions.
  • Contribute directly to the Community Safety Team's objective of creating safer communities and supporting residents to live free from abuse and harm.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
