Overview
Change Grow Live are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to our service users’ lives, offering support and respect in a safe environment, treating each person as an individual and working with them to find the right treatment and care options.
Our core values are ‘Be open, be compassionate and be bold’, and our team members apply these daily to achieve our mission of helping people change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals and live life to its full potential.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Building Bridges Family Team in Liverpool for a Domestic Abuse Coordinator. You will work with families where domestic abuse and substance misuse are a feature, helping to reduce risk, build stability and support meaningful, lasting change.
Central to the role is direct work with people who have used abusive behaviours. You will deliver interventions that promote accountability, stabilisation of substance use and a reduction in abusive behaviour, while supporting service users to improve their mental and physical health, parenting capacity and wider whole-person development.
The safety of adult and child victim-survivors will be central to every aspect of the role. You will work alongside specialist domestic abuse workers and services, both internally and externally, as well as other partners, so that risk is identified, managed and reduced, and families can access the right support at the right time.
No two days are the same. This role needs someone who can combine compassion with appropriate challenge; who is flexible, reflective and a confident communicator.
Responsibilities
- Undertake holistic assessments, risk formulation and support planning with families where domestic abuse and substance misuse are present, including substance use, mental and physical health, parenting capacity, strengths and wider social needs.
- Support service users to recognise the impact of their behaviour, take responsibility, develop non-abusive coping strategies and work towards safer relationships and family life.
- Facilitate the Building Bridges behaviour change programme, delivering structured one-to-one and group interventions for people who have used abusive behaviours.
- Promote stabilisation and recovery from substance use through evidence-informed key work, harm-reduction advice and planned referral or onward support.
- Work closely with specialist domestic abuse services, children’s social care, health, housing, criminal justice and other internal and external partners to support risk reduction and safety for adult and child victim-survivors.
- Provide flexible support to families in a range of settings, including homes, children’s centres and schools, in line with need and safeguarding arrangements.
- Deliver whole-family assessments, evidence-based psychosocial interventions and targeted family interventions with parents and children, where appropriate and safe to do so.
- Contribute to multi-agency risk management and safeguarding processes, sharing information appropriately and escalating concerns without delay.
- Maintain accurate, timely and defensible case records; monitor engagement, outcomes and safety indicators; and contribute to continuous programme learning and development.
- Build respectful, purposeful relationships that promote whole-person development, social (re)integration and meaningful, sustainable change.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
