Role Description
The Domestic Abuse Service Manager will lead the operational delivery, development and quality assurance of domestic abuse services across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The role will oversee safe accommodation, community and outreach services supporting adults and children affected by domestic abuse.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting employees, workers, and volunteers
- Overseeing caseloads, risk assessments, and safeguarding
- Ensuring high-quality and trauma-informed service delivery
- Maintaining compliance with contractual, safeguarding, and quality standards

The postholder will act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, lead on safeguarding and health and safety, and represent the service at multi-agency forums including MARAC and safeguarding meetings. They will also develop partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies, lead training and awareness activity, and contribute to service development and organizational learning.
The role will have responsibility for monitoring, evaluation, data analysis, and reporting, including preparing reports for commissioners and funders and using service data and feedback to drive continuous improvement. The postholder will also support budget management, funding applications, and tender submissions.
Experience Required
- Experience of managing and delivering supported accommodation services, ideally including refuge/safe accommodation, outreach, and community-based provision
- Experience of line management, including supervision, appraisal, staff development, performance management, and managing absence
- Strong knowledge of domestic abuse, safeguarding, risk assessment, safety planning, and trauma-informed practice, including working with both adults and children
- Experience of managing complex cases and contributing to multi-agency safeguarding processes, ideally including MARAC
- Experience of quality assurance, case auditing, monitoring outcomes, and implementing service improvements
- Experience of contract and funder compliance, including data collection, analysis, performance monitoring, and report writing
- Strong experience of developing and maintaining partnerships with statutory, voluntary, and community organizations, such as police, housing, health, children's services, and courts
- Experience of developing and delivering training on domestic abuse, safeguarding, risk, and related areas
- Experience using case management systems, producing reports, and analyzing service data
- Understanding of equality, diversity, inclusion, and anti-discriminatory practice, with the ability to promote culturally competent services
- Experience of managing or contributing to budgets, funding applications, tenders, and grant submissions would be advantageous
- Good knowledge of health and safety, lone working, accommodation management, and business continuity
- Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings, weekends, and participation in an out-of-hours rota
