About Us
Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Woodlands in Stockport. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to provide high-quality, person-centred care. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Domestic Assistant to help keep Woodlands clean, safe and comfortable for the residents and staff who call it home.
The Role
As our Domestic Assistant, you'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout Woodlands. You'll carry out daily cleaning and laundry duties, follow infection prevention and control procedures, and help ensure the home meets health and safety standards — playing an important behind-the-scenes role in the comfort and wellbeing of our residents.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
