We're looking for a Domestic Assistant (Mobile) to join our team, helping to maintain safe, clean and welcoming healthcare environments across Hampshire sites.

About the role

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Salary: £25,272 per annum
  • Location: Southampton - Royal South Hants Hospital - Main Site
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day

Please note, this role requires flexibility to work a combination of early morning shifts (from 5:00am) and evening shifts (up to approximately 9pm). A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, as you'll travel between multiple sites.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Domestic Assistant (Mobile), you'll play a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring healthcare environments meet NHS National Cleaning Standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across healthcare facilities
  • Carrying out legionella flushing procedures and accurately recording activity
  • Safely handling and disposing of waste
  • Using and maintaining cleaning equipment, including vacuums, floor machines and steam cleaners
  • Ensuring compliance with COSHH requirements
  • Reporting equipment faults through NHSPS systems
  • Replenishing cleaning supplies and consumables
  • Supporting a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues

What we're looking for

We welcome applications from people with experience in:

  • Previous cleaning, domestic, housekeeping or facilities experience (although this isn't essential)
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
  • Good attention to detail
  • An awareness of health and safety and infection prevention standards, or a willingness to learn
  • A commitment to delivering excellent service and supporting patient care

Where You'll Work

You'll support a number of NHS sites across Hampshire. There may also be opportunities to provide cover at other nearby locations when required.
