Domestic Assistant/ Cleaners
University Hospital Southampton, SO16 6YD
Rate of Pay: £25,272.00 per annum, pro rata, plus basic Serco Benefits
Here at Serco, we are looking for Domestic Assistants/ Cleaners to join our team at University Hospital Southampton. Our domestic assistants provide a high-quality domestic cleaning service to patients, staff, and visitors at the Hospital.
Shift Patterns Available
- Monday to Friday:
- 0700-1400 = 30h per week
- 1600-2000 = 20h per week
- 1700-2100 = 20h per week
Main Accountabilities
Duties will include cleaning floors, work surfaces, furnishings and related equipment. You will empty, dispose and replace clinical and domestic waste as directed and that all equipment and materials required to perform all cleaning tasks are maintained in a hygienic and safe condition. Hospital cleaning is a vital part of overall health and safety, as it’s a major contributor to controlling the spread of infections.
What You'll Need To Do The Role
- Strong communication is a key attribute for this role as you will be interacting with colleagues, patients, visitors, and other staff on a day-to-day basis.
- You will also be required to have a good working knowledge of health and safety and hygiene practices.
- You must be eligible to work in the UK and roles are subject to DBS background check.
- This is a physically demanding role and the post holder will be expected to stand for long periods of time with manual handling involved.
