Introduction
Switch2 is the market leader in the provision of bespoke energy metering, monitoring, and billing services to high energy users such as hospitals, factories, residential apartments, commercial properties, and industrial sites. Our client portfolio contains local authorities, universities, factories, housing associations, private landlords, and utility energy suppliers. The company is now entering into an exciting new business sector and has already won over a dozen major contracts with large public sector property developers who now have to consider renewable energy in order to obtain planning permission for new build projects.
Despite a contracting economy, the Company has been through massive recent growth with record-breaking sales and now seeks to strengthen its Service team with a Service Engineer.
The Role
The Field Services Engineer will be responsible for response and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of metering, hydraulic, and electrical controls systems installed primarily within residential properties. In addition, there will be a requirement to provide out of hours on call support to these activities within a structured on-call rota basis.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
