A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Domestic Gas Manager / Gas Operations Manager to join an established M and E contractor with around 50 years industry experience and a superb reputation.

The company has built an excellent reputation within the building services and maintenance sector and has a strong, long-standing presence across social housing and domestic heating contracts.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced Domestic Gas Manager to take responsibility for the successful management and delivery of major domestic heating contracts across the social housing sector.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who has progressed into contract, operational or management responsibility and is now looking for a long-term position with a company that genuinely invests in its people.

The Role

As Domestic Gas Manager, you will take a senior operational role overseeing domestic gas and heating contracts, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standards.

You will be responsible for managing engineers, subcontractors and operational teams, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring contractual, commercial, health and safety and compliance requirements are consistently met.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Managing major domestic gas and heating contracts within the social housing sector
  • Overseeing day-to-day operational delivery and performance
  • Managing and supporting teams of domestic gas engineers
  • Ensuring engineers are working safely and in accordance with all relevant regulations and procedures
  • Monitoring KPIs, SLAs and contractual performance
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, housing associations and key stakeholders
  • Managing resources, workloads and engineering performance
  • Ensuring gas safety, quality and compliance standards are maintained
  • Monitoring contract performance, costs and productivity
  • Working closely with senior management to continually improve service delivery

What They’re Looking For

The successful candidate will have a genuine engineering background together with substantial experience managing domestic gas/heating contracts.

You Will Ideally Have

  • Strong experience managing domestic gas contracts
  • Previous experience within social housing / housing association environments
  • A strong engineering background
  • Experience managing engineers and operational teams
  • Excellent knowledge of domestic heating and gas compliance
  • Strong understanding of contract performance, KPIs and SLAs
  • The ability to manage clients and build long-term relationships
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop engineering teams
  • Commercial awareness and a good understanding of contract delivery
  • Strong health and safety and compliance awareness
  • Domestic Gas / Gas Safe qualifications would be highly advantageous
