Role Description
The Domestic Gas Engineer role at ThermoServ Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Crawley. The engineer will carry out installation, servicing, and repair of domestic gas boilers and central heating systems in residential properties, ensuring all work meets Gas Safe, safety, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

- Diagnosing faults
- Performing maintenance and reactive repairs
- Commissioning new systems
- Completing accurate job records and documentation
The role involves:
- Liaising with residents and clients in a professional manner
- Providing clear explanations of work carried out
- Prioritising customer safety and satisfaction
The engineer will also:
- Support emergency callouts as required
- Contribute to ThermoServ’s commitment to energy-efficient and low-carbon heating solutions
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills and experience in domestic central heating systems, including installation, servicing, and fault-finding.
- Competence in LPG systems, with proven ability to work safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Solid plumbing skills covering pipework, hot water systems, and associated components in domestic properties.
- Experience in building maintenance and maintenance & repair activities, preferably within social housing or similar environments.
- Valid Gas Safe registration and relevant ACS qualifications (e.g., CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1) or equivalent.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices on-site.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work respectfully in occupied homes.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel within the local area as required.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and use digital job management systems.
- Experience with low-carbon or renewable heating technologies (e.g., heat pumps) is an advantage.
