About The Role
Days of Working: This position will be based at Castle Hill Hospital, Cottingham, working Monday to Friday 22:00 - 06:00am, half an hour unpaid break.
Are you ready to take on a leadership role and play a key part in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and patient experience? Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for a motivated and proactive Domestic Supervisor to join our dedicated facilities team.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a high-quality domestic service across clinical and non-clinical areas, ensuring environments are maintained to the highest standards in line with National Standards of Cleanliness and Trust policies. You will lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
As a Domestic Supervisor, you will manage a team of domestic staff, ensuring all duties are carried out effectively and efficiently to support infection prevention and control standards. Your ability to organise, motivate, and develop your team will be essential in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Allocating, coordinating, and organising day-to-day work tasks and activities for domestic staff
- Managing and adjusting staff rotas to accommodate unplanned absences, service demands, and training requirements
- Monitoring staff performance to ensure duties are completed in accordance with work schedules and required standards
- Ensuring all cleaning tasks are carried out in line with approved methods, frequencies, and infection control guidelines
- Delivering on-the-job training and carrying out competency assessments for staff, including safe use of cleaning equipment, machinery, COSHH regulations, and cleaning materials
- Conducting regular audits and spot checks across wards and departments to assess cleanliness levels and identify areas for improvement
- Supporting compliance with Trust policies, health and safety regulations, and infection prevention procedures
- Acting as a point of contact for staff and stakeholders, resolving day-to-day issues and escalating where necessary

Ideal Candidate Criteria
The ideal candidate will be a reliable and organised individual with strong leadership and communication skills. You will be able to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and maintain high standards in a busy healthcare environment.
- Right to Work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.
- CILB City & Guilds NVQ Level 1 & 2 (or equivalent qualification)
- Proven supervisory experience within a domestic, facilities, or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, decontamination procedures, and specialist cleaning processes (including Bioquell Q10 – HPV)
- Understanding of National Standards of Cleanliness, COSHH regulations, and Health & Safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
