Role Description

This full-time, on-site Domiciliary Care Manager (Registered Manager designate) role is based in Birmingham and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of home care services. The role includes overseeing care planning, monitoring service delivery, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. The manager will supervise and support care staff, manage rotas, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs.

  • Liaising with clients, families, and external professionals
  • Handling referrals and assessments
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports

The role also involves contributing to quality assurance, safeguarding, risk management, and continuous improvement of care standards within the service.

Qualifications

  • Case Management skills to coordinate care plans, monitor outcomes, and manage complex client needs.
  • Training skills to support staff development, deliver induction and ongoing learning, and promote best practice.
  • Elder Care experience to understand the specific needs of older adults and provide person-centered home care.
  • Social Services knowledge to navigate community resources, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of Medicine, including safe administration practices, medication monitoring, and liaison with healthcare professionals.
  • Experience in domiciliary or community care management, ideally in a regulated setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and support diverse teams.
  • Good organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Relevant health and social care qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements for care services in the United Kingdom.
