Role Description

The Domiciliary Care Worker role is an on-site position based in Lowestoft. In this role, the care worker will visit individuals in their own homes to provide personal care, support with daily living activities, and companionship while promoting independence and dignity. Typical tasks include:

  • Assisting with washing, dressing, toileting, medication prompts, meal preparation, light household duties, and monitoring wellbeing

The Domiciliary Care Worker will adhere to safeguarding and health and safety procedures while providing respectful, person-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a person-centered approach to care, respecting individual preferences, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Ability to assist with personal care and daily living tasks in a safe, dignified, and professional manner.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, including reliable record-keeping and adherence to care plans and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, and confidentiality requirements in care settings.
  • Willingness to travel locally in Lowestoft to visit clients and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Previous experience in domiciliary care, home care, or healthcare support is beneficial but not essential; full training can be provided.
  • Relevant care-related qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Right to work in the UK and the ability to pass any required background checks (e.g., DBS or equivalent).
