Role Description
This full-time, on-site Domiciliary Healthcare Assistant role is based in Sunderland and Newcastle and involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes and local community. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Assisting with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities
- Following individual care plans and promoting independence and dignity
- Monitoring wellbeing and reporting changes in condition
- Supporting with medications according to training and policy
- Maintaining accurate care records

The Healthcare Assistant will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to ensure safe, effective care and uphold health and safety standards. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, is required to meet the needs of service users.
Qualifications
- Strong patient care skills, including compassionate support, personal care, and promoting independence
- Competence in manual handling techniques and safe mobility assistance, following relevant training and guidelines
- Understanding of basic medicine administration procedures and adherence to organizational policies and protocols
- Knowledge of health & safety practices in home-care settings, including risk assessment and infection prevention
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience in domiciliary or community care is beneficial; NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is an advantage
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation, follow care plans, and handle sensitive information confidentially
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training, hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check, and work flexible hours
