Role Description

The Domiciliary Care Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Monmouth, providing in-home support to individuals with a variety of care needs. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with personal care, such as washing, dressing, and toileting, and supporting safe mobility in line with manual handling guidelines. The role involves preparing meals, supporting medication routines as directed, and helping with light household tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable environment. The Care Assistant will provide companionship, monitor changes in wellbeing, and report concerns promptly to supervisors or healthcare professionals. The position also requires accurate record-keeping, respectful communication with clients and their families, and adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.

  • Ability to perform safe Manual Handling and support clients with daily living tasks.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust and rapport with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience or training in Dementia Care and general Caregiving for vulnerable adults.
  • Reliable, compassionate, and patient, with a commitment to person-centered care and maintaining client dignity.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to maintain clear, accurate care records.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, and to travel locally within Monmouth.
  • Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) or willingness to work towards them.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries; previous domiciliary care experience is an advantage.
