Role Description
The Door Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Middleton. The Door Engineer will install, service, and repair pedestrian, fire, and industrial doors. The Door Engineer will also support the installation and maintenance of access control and lock systems and may participate in emergency call-outs as required.
Qualifications
- Experience with installation, servicing, and repair of automatic, industrial, and manual doors, including shutters and access systems.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards for door and access equipment, with a commitment to legal and safe operation.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, service manuals, and specifications, and maintain accurate service documentation.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on-site.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for site visits and emergency call-outs.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in door engineering, locksmithing, access control, or building services maintenance is an advantage.
