Door Man - The Imperial Hotel

Location: Bloomsbury, London

40 hours (5 Days out of 7 Days weekly rota)

About Us

We are part of the Imperial London Family of Hotels, a family-run company with over 185 years of history. We’re rewriting the traditional hospitality mindset, paving the way for a fresh approach at our 8 hotels in Bloomsbury. Our purpose is to provide authentic London experiences and memorable stays to all our guests. And we believe that starts with the right team. This summer, we opened the doors to our fully re-imagined hotel, The Imperial a new lifestyle offering within our portfolio. With 357 bedrooms, multiple dining venues, a workout studio, and 'Arcus’ the new destination rooftop bar, this will be a new beacon, bang in the heart of Bloomsbury, London.

About The Role

We’re looking for a confident, welcoming and highly observant Doorman to be the first point of contact for our guests. You’ll be the calm, reassuring presence at our doors — greeting guests, supporting arrivals and departures, and helping keep the hotel safe, secure and running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Give every guest a warm, professional welcome and guide them where they need to go
  • Handle guest queries, problems or complaints with confidence and care
  • Stay alert to safety, security and wellbeing — reporting issues immediately to the Duty Manager or relevant leaders
  • Liaise with emergency services when required and support the team during critical situations
  • Assist guests with luggage, directions and general support throughout their stay
  • Conduct floor patrols, fire checks, secure access points and help maintain a safe hotel environment
  • Investigate noise, disruption or incidents with professionalism
  • Help keep forecourts, entrances and public spaces clear, tidy and guest-ready
  • Support check-in with self-check-in devices, key distribution and guest communication
  • Work closely with all hotel departments to ensure guest expectations are exceeded
  • Participate in staff training and help onboard new team members
  • Carry out additional tasks to maintain high standards throughout the hotel

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
