Downstream Process Scientist

We are recruiting a Downstream Process Scientist to join a leading Pharmaceutical company in the Berkshire area. As the Downstream Process Scientist, you will contribute to the development and optimisation of processes that are crucial for the recovery and purification of antibody therapeutics, supporting various stages of drug development from pre-clinical to clinical phases.

This is an initial 12-month contract with likely extension.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Downstream Process Scientist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • As the Downstream Process Scientist, you will provide process development support for projects, including the production of pilot-scale material for pivotal toxicology studies.
  • As the Downstream Process Scientist, you will explore improvements to current methodologies through collaborations with internal and external parties.
  • As the Downstream Process Scientist, you will investigate technology options, examining intellectual property issues and assessing alternative technologies for downstream processing.
  • As the Downstream Process Scientist, you will apply computer software to assist in process development optimisation and modelling, such as Design of Experiments (DoE) software.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Downstream Process Scientist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • Relevant degree in a scientific discipline such as biochemistry, chemistry, or biology.
  • Proven industry experience within the biopharmaceutical sector.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with protein analysis or purification.
