Reporting to

Asset Champion

Role Purpose

The Drainage Asset Surveyor is responsible for undertaking site-based drainage asset surveys, validation, and verification across the LU network. The role will involve identifying existing drainage assets, confirming their condition, location, and associated asset information, and ensuring that asset records accurately reflect the physical infrastructure on site.

The Surveyor will work independently or as part of a Drainage PGI team, depending on the requirements of the programme, and will support the Asset Champion in maintaining accurate and reliable drainage asset information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake site-based drainage asset surveys and inspections across the LU network.
  • Identify, locate, and verify drainage assets against existing asset records and drawings.
  • Complete and quality-check LU 447 Asset Validation Forms accurately and in accordance with the required standards.
  • Identify discrepancies between physical assets and existing asset information and ensure these are correctly recorded and reported.
  • Capture accurate asset information, including asset type, location, measurements, condition, and other relevant attributes.
  • Update and maintain asset information and supporting records as required.
  • Support the Asset Champion with the identification and resolution of asset data discrepancies.
  • Work independently when undertaking surveys or as part of a Drainage PGI team when required.
  • Support drainage survey and delivery teams with CAD, drawing review, and data processing activities.
  • Ensure all survey information is accurate, complete, and submitted within the required timescales.
  • Liaise with operational teams and other stakeholders where access, asset identification, or survey information requires clarification.
  • Comply with all relevant TfL, Lanes Group, LU, and site safety requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate records of completed surveys, inspections, and outstanding actions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
