Drainage Engineer – Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire
Salary: £30,000 basic + performance bonus
OTE: £40,000–£50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire
Work Location: Field-based / On the road
Drain Doctor is looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join our growing team covering Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
This is not a trainee role. We need someone confident working independently, able to manage jobs from start to finish, and committed to delivering a professional service to domestic and commercial customers.
The Role
You will carry out a range of drainage work, including:
- Reactive drain unblocking and maintenance
- High-pressure water jetting (HPWJ)
- CCTV drainage surveys and fault finding
- Identifying root causes of drainage issues
- Completing appropriate repairs
- Patch lining and localised drain repairs
- Working across domestic and commercial sites
- Communicating clearly and professionally with customers
- Completing jobs efficiently and to a high standard

What We’re Looking For
You must have proven experience in the drainage industry and be confident working independently.
Essential experience:
- Drain unblocking and maintenance
- Rodding
- High-pressure water jetting
- CCTV surveys
- Fault diagnosis
- Patch lining
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Confident lone working
- Good customer communication
- Reliability, professionalism and trustworthiness
Desirable experience:
- Basic plumbing (e.g., toilet repairs)
- Inversion CIPP lining
- Minor excavation and drainage repair work

Salary & Benefits
- £30,000 basic salary
- £40,000–£50,000 OTE
- Performance bonus based on turnover and weekly targets
- Company van
- Tools and uniform provided
- 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
- Monday–Friday working
- 1 weekend per month
- Fully employed, permanent position
