Role Description
The Drama & Inclusive Performance Consultant is a part-time, on-site role based in Aberystwyth. The consultant will design and deliver drama-based workshops, rehearsals, and training sessions that embed inclusive performance practices, including accessible storytelling and equitable ensemble work. The role involves close collaboration with directors, producers, educators, and community groups to refine scripts, staging, and performance methods in line with inclusive principles. The consultant will also create documentation, guidance materials, and feedback reports to support ongoing improvement and contribute to project planning and evaluation.
Qualifications
- Performance Consulting and Performance Management skills to design, implement, and review inclusive performance processes.
- Consulting and Analytical Skills to assess current practices, identify gaps, and propose practical, evidence-informed solutions.
- Strong Communication skills to facilitate workshops, provide clear guidance, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in drama, theatre, or performing arts, with a track record of inclusive or community-based practice.
- Understanding of inclusive methodologies, accessibility, and safeguarding in performance settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site in Aberystwyth, manage part-time schedules, and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Relevant education or training in drama, theatre studies, arts education, or a related field is beneficial.
- Experience working with varied age groups and backgrounds, and commitment to anti-discriminatory, equity-focused practice.
