Full-time, permanent

Westhill with hybrid working

Please note that this role requires security checks.

The Role

As a Draughtsperson, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing ideas to life. Working closely with the engineering team and across the business, you’ll transform concepts into precise technical drawings and 3D models that set the foundation for innovative projects. Your expertise ensures designs meet the highest industry standards, supporting the development of cutting-edge solutions and driving projects from vision to reality.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop safe, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs using 3D modelling tools.
  • Create accurate technical drawings and 2D schematics to support engineering projects.
  • Produce clear assembly, interface, and general arrangement drawings for various projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand and deliver project requirements.
  • Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, regulations, and quality expectations.
  • Review and update drawings based on feedback, maintaining version control and documentation.
  • Provide drafting support during design, assembly, and manufacturing phases.
  • Continuously enhance skills through training and development opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in technical drafting or a similar design-focused role.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software) and sound understanding of drafting principles.
  • Experience in producing machining drawings.
  • Skilled in using a range of drafting tools and software to produce accurate, high-quality outputs.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • HNC qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent time-served experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current draughting and engineering standards, regulations, and best practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
