Location: Rosebank Project | Offshore
Rotation: 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off.
We are looking for an experienced Drilling Materials Controller to support the Rosebank project on a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation. The role will be responsible for the effective control, coordination and management of drilling materials and equipment offshore, ensuring materials are available when required and all associated logistics and documentation are managed accurately.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in materials control within an offshore drilling environment, with excellent organisational and communication skills. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment, managing competing priorities and liaising effectively with offshore personnel, onshore logistics teams, procurement and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control drilling materials and equipment offshore, ensuring availability to support ongoing operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all materials are correctly received, stored, issued and returned.
- Monitor stock levels and identify material requirements to ensure critical items are available when required.
- Raise and manage material requisitions in line with operational requirements.
- Coordinate the movement of materials and equipment between offshore and onshore locations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate materials manifests, shipping documentation and associated records.
- Coordinate backloads and shipments, ensuring materials are correctly packaged, labelled and documented.
- Manage Dangerous Goods documentation and ensure materials are transported in accordance with relevant procedures and regulations.
- Liaise with onshore warehouses, logistics teams, procurement and suppliers to expedite materials and resolve any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of materials movements, stock levels and equipment.
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile any inventory discrepancies.
- Support the management and tracking of rental equipment and third-party materials.
- Attend relevant operational meetings and communicate material requirements and logistics updates to the wider team.
- Ensure materials are stored and handled safely and in accordance with Company procedures.
- Work closely with the Drilling and Deck teams to understand upcoming operational requirements and plan material movements accordingly.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on inventory, materials movements and outstanding requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of materials control and logistics processes offshore.

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
- Proven experience working as a Materials Controller within an offshore drilling environment.
- Strong knowledge of offshore materials management and logistics processes.
- Experience managing drilling materials, equipment and inventory.
- Good understanding of materials requisitions, stock control and inventory reconciliation.
- Experience preparing manifests and shipping documentation.
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and offshore backload procedures.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with offshore and onshore personnel.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider offshore team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong understanding of offshore HSE requirements and Company procedures.
- Good IT skills and experience using materials management systems.

Minimum Qualifications
- Previous offshore experience in a Materials Controller or equivalent role.
- Relevant offshore safety and survival certification.
- Valid offshore medical.
Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
- Previous experience supporting drilling operations.
- Experience working on UKCS offshore projects.
- SAP or other Materials Management system experience.
- Dangerous Goods certification.
- Forklift, Banksman/Slinger or relevant deck operations certification.
- Experience working with drilling contractors, operators or major service companies.
