Salary: Standard Maintenance Contract £38482

Hours: Full-Time

PLEASE NOTE: To apply for this role it is essential that you have Class 2 HVG licence and also HIAB

We're looking for a reliable, safety-focused Driver to join our team. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for the safe transportation, loading, and delivery of plant and materials - playing a key part in supporting our operations and customers every single day.

What You'll Do

Drive & Deliver Safely

  • Operate a variety of vehicles you are licensed and certified to drive
  • Transport plant and materials safely, efficiently, and professionally
  • Ensure all vehicle loads meet road traffic legislation and vehicle operating limits

Load, Unload & Operate Equipment

  • Carry out the loading and unloading of plant and materials
  • Safely operate mechanised lifting equipment, including HIABs and Forklift Trucks
  • Follow all Health & Safety requirements at all times

Maintain Vehicles & Records

  • Complete mandatory daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
  • Keep vehicles clean, safe, and roadworthy
  • Accurately complete and return all paperwork and records, including delivery documentation

Work the Right Way

  • Follow Safe Systems of Work, Method Statements, company policies, and procedures
  • Deliver a professional service to end users
  • Contribute positively to team performance and operational success

Develop & Grow

  • Undertake regular Driver CPC training
  • Contribute to your own development and support the development of others

Your Experience And Skills

What You'll Need

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Class 2 HGV
  • Hiab
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Hold and retain relevant competencies required for the role
  • Willingness to drive different vehicles as required by business need
  • Experience operating mechanised lifting equipment
  • Forklift Truck operation experience (essential)
  • Ideally hold, or be working towards, NVQ Level 1 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject

This is an operational role where safety is critical, requiring strict adherence to procedures, training requirements, and company standards. Flexibility and professionalism are key.

All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on Sentinel database and a 5 year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
