Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Gully Driver / Operative to join Ringway Infrastructure Services Ltd. The successful candidate will undertake the cleansing and maintenance of highway drainage systems, including gullies, catchpits, chambers and associated assets, helping to keep the highway network safe and operational.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong commitment to health and safety, excellent teamwork and a positive approach to delivering high-quality services to our customers and communities.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely operate gully cleansing vehicles and associated plant and equipment.
- Carry out routine and reactive highway drainage maintenance activities.
- Clean and maintain gullies, catchpits, and drainage systems.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance inspections.
- Work in accordance with safe systems of work, risk assessments and company procedures.
- Accurately complete job records and electronic work tickets.
- Support colleagues and assist with other highway maintenance activities when required.
- Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public, clients and stakeholders.
- Maintain vehicles, tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Report defects, incidents and health and safety concerns promptly.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working within highways maintenance, drainage, utilities, construction or a similar operational environment.
- Experience operating HGV vehicles and specialist road maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of highway drainage assets and cleansing activities.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements in a roadside environment.
- Experience of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to use handheld technology, tablets or mobile devices for work allocation and records.
- Experience of working as part of an operational team delivering front-line services.
- Emergency First Aid at Work.

Specialist Skills
- LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Driver CPC qualification.
- Street Works (NRSWA) accreditation.
- Use of jetting and vacuum tanker equipment.
- Safe operation of vehicle-mounted plant and ancillary equipment.
- Chapter 8 Traffic Management awareness.
- Drainage inspection and defect identification.
