Are you an experienced HGV driver who enjoys working outdoors and leading a team? We have an exciting opportunity for a Driver Chargehand to join our Environmental Services team
In This Role, You Will
- Drive and operate a Category C waste collection vehicle
- Lead and motivate a small team of waste collection operatives to ensure rounds are completed safely and efficiently
- Take responsibility for vehicle checks, defect reporting, and maintaining accurate paperwork
- Work collaboratively to deliver a high-quality service to our residents
This is a physically demanding role that requires working in all weather conditions, but it’s also rewarding for those who enjoy teamwork and making a difference in the community

What We’re Looking For
- A valid Category C (HGV) license is essential for this role
- Driver CPC qualification (training can be provided for the right candidate)
- Experience supervising a team and working with the public
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach
